Subject: Proteostatic control in hematopoietic stem cells
Controlling the proper folding status of proteins and actively eliminating cells with mis-/un-folded proteins is crucial for all types of cells. In particular, hematopoietic stem cells (HSC)s, which have poor protein folding capacity, require tight regulation of the proteostatic control through both internal and external machineries. Disruption of these systems is critical for HSC maintenance, however, it could therefore become a pharmacological target to enhance HSC expansion in vitro and in vivo. In this talk I will talk about our current achievements and ongoing projects.
