Kana Horiguchi is a Ph.D. student of the Department of Molecular Pathology,
Graduate School of Medicine at University of Tokyo. Since she entered the
graduate school in 2006, she continues to work on a trans-differentiation
process of cells, called Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition (EMT). She focuses
on EMT induced by TGF-b which is implicated in invasive cancer phenotypes
associated with metastatic disease. Her current study reveals a unique
signaling pathway to induce EMT by alternative splicing of FGF receptors
by TGF-b. |
