Description

Professor Yoshihiro Kawaoka of the Institute of Medical Science, The University of Tokyo (IMSUT) in Japan, and a research group at the University of Wisconsin, USA, found that cats infected with SARS-CoV-2 have lung damage for a long time without any symptoms after recovery. They also found that cats recovered from COVID-19 were not infected with the virus four weeks after the initial infection. The results of this research were published in “Emerging Infectious Diseases” on January 7, 2021.
