Visitors from Ghana Health Service and Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research, University of Ghana

On January 26, 2017, IMSUT welcomed a delegation from the Ghana Health Service and the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research, University of Ghana. They are conducting collaborative research with Professor Hiroshi Kiyono (Director of International Research and Development Center for Mucosal Vaccine, IMSUT) on the SATREPS project, gthe Project for Surveillance and Laboratory Support for Emerging Pathogens of Public Health Importanceh.

On that day, Professor Yasushi Kawaguchi, Professor Mutsuhiro Takekawa, Professor Hirotoshi Tanaka (Vice Deans of IMSUT) and Professor Hiroshi Kiyono welcomed them, and gave an overview of IMSUT. After that, the visitors were given a short tour of IMSUT's facilities, such as the MucoRice cultivation room, the supercomputer, and BioBank Japan, and received a brief introduction to each facility and its mission.

The short visit lasted only one hour, but we hope this visit will encourage a further expansion of friendly and cooperative ties between Japan and Ghana.
