" The 25th East Asia Joint Symposium "



The 25th East Asia Joint Symposium was held at Chongqing, China from October 25th to 26th, hosted by Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (SIBCB, CAS)
This symposium was launched about 25 years ago, and aims to exchange information and foster good relationships between top East Asian life science researchers. Participating institutes host it in rotation. In this time, 12 institutions in total participated:

A total of 8 researchers took part from IMSUT. The senior researchers gave oral presentations of 20 minutes, while the young researchers supplemented their posters with 5-minute short talks.

At the beginning of the symposium, the memorial lecture “Memorial of Prof. Ken-ichi Arai ” has been given by Dean Murakami and Project Prof. Watanabe, and all participants could remembered himself and his achievement for the symposium.

Dr. Yuhei Maruzuru, a young scientist of IMSUT, received the "Outstanding Young Scientist 2nd Place TOMY Award"

Next year, the symposium will be hosted by Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Seoul National University (Korea).
