This symposium was launched about 20 years ago, and aims to exchange information and foster good relationships between top East Asian life science researchers. Participating institutes host it in rotation. 7 institutions in total were participated:

The Institute of Medical Science, the University of Tokyo (IMSUT)

Institute for Frontier Life and Medical Sciences, Kyoto University (IFLMS)

A total of 12 researchers took part from IMSUT. The senior researchers gave oral presentations of 15 minutes, while the young researchers supplemented their posters with 5-minute short talks.

The presentations and short talks were all shorter than last time, on the other hand, the time of the poster review sessions was longer, so the young researchers could discuss issues with participants as much as they wanted.

Mr. Sadanori Miyoshi won the award for best poster presentation by a member of IMSUT.

Next year, the symposium will be hosted by the Institute for Frontier Life and Medical Sciences, Kyoto University (IFLMS).
