概 要: | Since both reproduction and immunocompetence are costly, the negative reciprocal relationships between these functions were predicted by theory of the life history trade-off (Stearns, 1992). Follow to the idea of this theory we studied on the wild and laboratory rodents: - the correlations between sexual demonstrations and humoral immune response in males of red voles from natural populations;- influence of the female chemical signals on manifestation of the secondary sexual traits (SST) in male mice; - aggressiveness and endocrine function of gonads in IL-1 deficient male mice; - behavioral effects of the T-independent (CpG DNA and LPS) and T-dependent (SRBC) immunogenic challenges. Taken together our data showed that trade-off between immunocompetence and behavioral sexual demonstrations really exists in mammal populations. Bi-directional links between immune and neuroendocrine systems seem to be charged with the immuno-behavioral trade-off. Immunological changes induced by breeding activity of males lead rather to redistribution than suppression of the immune defense. |
