In this talk I will outline our molecular systems approach to studying the
eukaryotic translation pathway. This strategy incorporates studies at
different levels of size (from molecules to complexes to pathways to cells)
and of complexity (e.g. from conformational changes in proteins and in
molecular machines up to whole pathway control and regulation), with the
overall objective being to generate a holistic in silico model of how the
behaviour of the system is determined by the properties of the components.
