T-cell Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma: Recent Advances and Novel Treatment Approaches

T-cell Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma (T-NHL) represents a heterogeneous group of disease that is generally refractory to standard treatment with frequent relapses and poor prognosis, with rare exceptions. Standard chemotherapy has been tried with unsatisfactory results. Recent work has identified new biological markers that may serve as potential therapeutic targets in the treatment of T-NHL. Among these include the IL-2 receptor and the CD26 molecule. In this lecture, the new classification of T-NHL will be reviewed, and historical data regarding T-NHL treatments will be discussed. In addition, data both from the laboratory as well as from recent clinical trials which illustrate the role of new treatment approaches in T-NHL will be evaluated.
